In your Divemaster Intrenship, you will learn first hand of what proper skills and qualities are needed for the active dive shops around the world. Over the month long training you will develop the leadership, dive skills and experience to start Dive Professional career. Also you will learn with the confidence knowing that your IANTD Divemaster is one of the most respected and in-depth Dive master training in the world. As a Port Deco Diver Intern you will also get to enjoy the historic Lake Michigan Shipwrecks as well as student discount on scuba gear and nitox and trimix fills. This course spans over 30 days in the 2017 dive season.
The Internship starts on Thursday Night at 5pm July 13th and ends August 13th. In this time span Interns will complete their IANTD Divemaster diving requirement, pool training, classroom sessions, exams, and additional time to hone your dive skills. After the course completion you will be working and guiding as a divemaster at Port Deco Divers. As well as volunteering in Wisconsin’s New NOAA Sanctuary until the end of the Internship on Sunday August 13th. Interns will be busy every Saturday and Sunday during this time period and some week night classroom sessions.
Interns are required to have their own dive equipment.
Must be qualified as an IANTD Advanced EANx Diver, First Aid to include CPR,
Oxygen Provider and IANTD Rescue or equivalent. If an equivalent certification is accepted, CPR and Oxygen Provider must be current within the last two (2) years.
Must provide proof of a minimum of 60 logged dives.
Must be a minimum of 18 years of age.
Interns are required to have all of their own dive equipment.

IANTD Dive Master theory
Minimum of 175 minutes of bottom time assisting with IANTD standard dives or classes under the supervision of an IANTD Instructor.
On-the-job training and experience
Must complete the academic sessions utilizing the IANTD Dive Master Manual, review the IANTD Standards and Procedures complete knowledge reviews and pass the IANTD Dive Master exam with a minimum score of 80%.
Complete an Emergency Assistance Plan and Risk Analysis for a scenario to be assigned by the Instructor.
Demonstrate all Open Water Diver practical skills in a manner showing the highest level of mastery and competence.
Be able to demonstrate competence in all scuba skills, and ability to cope with the most demanding operational factors of the region.
Demonstrate mastery of the techniques involved in planning and executing dives.
