Launched back in 2012, the HALO 3D is the hi-tech flagship of the undersuit range and has gained praise for warmth even in extremely cold water.
Batman has been joined by his Catwoman
The design is based on the principle that the body has core warmth areas, and that heat is not evenly distributed during a dive. So the HALO 3D offers more protection of key muscle groups (legs and forearms) and areas of greater heat loss, such as near the kidneys.
To date however, this suit was only available for people with beards and gruff voices wanting to look like Batman.
Now our superhero has been joined by his Catwoman.
To distinguish and engender the suit, Fourth Element has mildly resorted to cliché and embossed the female HALO 3D with a pink motif.
We’ll forgive the Helston-based design whizzes for that one though, as the suit differs in other areas. Literally: there’s better thermal protection around the chest and torso area where women have extra bits.
Fairer sex HALO 3D divers also get a ‘convenience’ zip in the groin area. The male version of the undersuit has holes instead to feed a p-valve through.
The female version of the suit also comes with newly added ‘handwarmer’ pockets. Ed: ideal also for storing lipstick. (Boo! Hiss! Dinosaur!)
Sorry ladies, let’s move on. Most importantly, you’ll be pleased to hear that different sizing is available: the full list is 06/08, 08/10, 10/12, 12/14, 14/16, 16/18, 18/20, 20/22, each with a ‘Short’ size option.
